For those interested, a work around to this problem is to change the 'wireless radio' mode of your router. hey normally default to 54Mbps for maximum compatibility with older devices, but you should be able to change this to a higher setting like 144Mbps or 300Mbps. While not as fast as the 5G connection, you can at least benefit from faster speeds in the event your current hardware is unable to recognize a 5G signal.

Somewhere on the outside of the router will be something like this http://192.168.x.x This is your access web address for the router. The access password should also be right there. For security, be sure to change the password and write it down somewhere safe for future access. If you lose the password you'll have to reset the whole router.

Once inside, the wireless radio mode setting is usually an advanced one. Each router is different so you might have to look around a bit. Just remember to not change anything you're not sure about. Once there it may look something like this:

Wireless Frequency 2.4GHz
Enable Wireless RadioEnable/disable the wireless radio.
Wireless Mode
Up to 54Mbps (best for wireless compatibility)Trade compatibility with older wireless devices for wireless range/performance benefits.
Up to 144Mbps (best for wireless range)
Up to 300Mbps (best for wireless performance)

Hope this helps. Nationalist spain hoi4.
